Alot of people have no idea about this including me, until few weeks ago...;p
You can send 'locked' gift to your neighbors from 'www.farmville.com', and most of the time, your neighbors will send back the same gift to you....

And sometimes the items could be different from fb farmville then the one in farmville.com...;p
